Good Old Blue & White

I have posted this bedroom before but I thought I would post it again today as I still love it and it reminded me that blue and white can look so beautiful in a bedroom.  I also love the black iron bed and the mix of furniture styles in this room.   {image - country living magazine}

Here are a couple of new blue and white fabrics which hit our fabric library this week.  I'm sure the die hard blue and white fans will be excited to know that we have had a very big influx of beautiful blue and white fabrics over the last few months into our library.

PS.  It seems that the fresh flower post I wrote yesterday has created a bit of stir amongst readers from areas where it is hard to grow and buy fresh flowers/produce.  I am very lucky to live in a sub-tropical climate where flowers/foliage/fruit & vegetables are accessible and easy to grow.  I apologise if I have offended anybody with my post.  That certainly wasn't my intention.  I was purely stating my own personal preference and in my haste I didn't consider the circumstances of readers in remote/barren areas.

Bedroom Inspiration

I stumbled across this fabulous bedroom image in one of Melanie's client files today. She is currently on holidays so the girls and I are looking after her client work while she is gone. This is an image one of her clients tore out of a magazine as inspiration for her bedroom which they are currently working on at their beach apartment. I hadn't seen this image before and immediately I was drawn to it. I hope Mel and her client don't mind me sharing it here but I definitely thought it was worth sharing!! I really like the unusual combination of black, white and blue in this room.

Image source unknown. If anyone knows the source please let me know as I found it as a tear sheet.

Two Lovely Bedrooms

I was on the Living Etc. website today and I came across these two bedrooms I love. The top one in particular is my favourite. I love the thrown together mix of patterned fabrics and vintage pieces. This style of decorating always looks unique and individual. The thing I like best in the bottom room is the cabinetry...fantastic idea for a small room don't you think?! I even love the idea of installing bookcasing around a bed in this same way.

That Bed Head

You might remember this DIVINE guest bedroom belonging to U.S. designer Krista Ewart which was featured in Domino magazine last year. I remember absolutely obsessing over this room and that bed head. Well, you wouldn't believe it when I tell you that on the weekend some of LA's top designers had a tag sale in which they sold off some amazing things. Fellow blogger and friend Megan Samuels from Beach Bungalow 8 was there. I loved seeing the photos she shared of the sale. But when I saw the Krista Ewart bed head in the photos I nearly fainted! I emailed Megan straight away and said that if I was there I would have strapped myself to that bedhead and not let it go. Megan emailed me back and said she purchased it. I can't believe how lucky she was!! She is going to put it in her daughter's bedroom and apparently Krista threw in the ticking stripe bed skirt as well. Gosh, I can't wait to see what Megan does with it.

There it is....and look at all of the other amazing things!! I would have been almost hyperventilating!

Megan with Krista Ewart and look at the bed head peeping through in the back of the photo.

Congrats on your fantastic buy Megan!! I wonder what Krista Ewart will do in her guest room now?!

Dreamy Bedroom

I think this bedroom is lovely. My favourite things are the blue and white stripe frilled cushions on the bed and the rug and the Antique bed end stool and the chandelier...well that's just about everything! I would be very happy sleeping in a simple, understated peaceful room like this.
